Stetson University is in DeLand, Florida, just 25 miles west of Daytona Beach and 35 miles northeast of Orlando. The DeLand campus serves nearly 2,300 undergraduate and graduate students in the University’s College of Arts & Sciences, School of Business Administration and School of Music. The Stetson University College of Law has campuses in St. Petersburg/Gulfport and Tampa, Florida. The Stetson University Center at Celebration, near Orlando, offers professional development programs for educators; a degree completion program in business; graduate courses in business, education, leadership and counseling.
The 165-acre DeLand campus is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Our many turn-of-the-century buildings have been modernized and updated without losing their charm. In recent years, new buildings that complement the historic campus have been added.
Campus Life
Stetson’s 170 faculty members, 97 percent of whom hold doctorates or equivalent degrees, teach all undergraduate classes. Our student/faculty ratio is 11:1.
Stetson’s 2,300 undergraduates come from 40 states and 30 countries. Fifty-nine percent of its students are female and 41 percent male.
Stetson has more than 60 majors and minors leading to Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Music, or Bachelor of Business Administration degrees. Master’s degrees are offered in accounting, business administration, education, English, and counseling. The Juris Doctor degree is awarded by the College of Law which guarantees admission to Stetson undergraduates who meet challenging academic requirements.
Stetson offers study abroad programs during the fall, spring and summer in Avignon, France; Freiburg, Germany; Hong Kong, China; Guanajuato, Mexico; Moscow, Russia; Madrid, Spain; Oxford, United Kingdom; Innsbruck, Austria; Edinburgh, Scotland and various locations in Australia and New Zealand.
Stetson is a member of the NCAA Division I Atlantic Sun Conference and offers a variety of intercollegiate sports including men’s and women’s basketball, tennis, golf, crew, cross country and soccer. Stetson offers men’s baseball, and women’s softball and volleyball. Junior Varsity opportunities are available in baseball, crew, tennis and golf.
There are more than 100 student organizations including service and special interest groups, student government, and 17 scholastic and honorary societies. These honorary societies include Phi Beta Kappa, Omicron Delta Kappa and Beta Gamma Sigma. Stetson is home to seven Greek national fraternities and six national sororities.
Stetson is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, American Bar Association, American Chemical Society, Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs, National Association of Schools of Music, and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
